[SOLVED] About APP HOLD in (32bit 64bit Webfous)

Hi all,

this is code function: they are 15 records.

I create a report ,I want each page shows 5 records

 

the frist page
1   aaa
2   bbb
3   ccc
4   ddd
5   eee
         next page(button)

the second page
6   aba
7   bhb
8   cuc
9   dqqd
10  ssse
         next page(button)


initial load : I will select the recrodS from database .
I will hold a file;
  

xxx.fex


APP HOLD TEMPTEST
-RUN

TABLE FILE TEST1
PRINT
*
ON TABLE HOLD AS TEST2 FORMAT FOCUS
END


when I click the next page , I will used

 
TYPE=FOOTING,
 FOCEXEC=app/xxx.fex( \
 IBIMR_action='MR_RUN_FEX' \
.....
.....
.....
....


I direct used TEST2 to create report , I don't want select database again.

In 32bit Webfous, It's worked. I don't code "APP HOLD TEMPTEST" it's work.

but this code in 64bit Webfous is not work , the error is :THE DESCRIPTION CANNOT BE FOUND FOR FILE NAMED: TEST2 .

so I write the code "APP HOLD TEMPTEST" again, it's work.

Why should that be? I also thing the "APP HOLD TEMPTEST" have the time out issue.


can anyone help me on this?

In 32 bit you might already file in TEMPTEST app folder, this mean not APP HOLD TEMPTEST no effect cos file already there?

In 64 bit, you may never have APP HOLD TEMPTEST and file no existing so no find?

It be danger to HOLD temp files unless delete as you fex entry -

CMD ERASE c:\ibi\apps\temptest\TEST2.*
APP HOLD TEMPTEST
TABLE FILE file
SUM [your coding be here]
ON TABLE HOLD AS TEST2 FORMAT [which one you be need]
END

In programming, it is safer not to assume the environment will be as you expect it.

You should aways have the APP HOLD line.

Kofi also has a valid point. just in case clear the old one before creating the new one.

I don't konw why the code in 32bit Webfoucs is work.

but I know if always have the APP HOLD line.it's work....

I also think use temp folder way , it's danger ....
