I just reported a case (#81982509) with IBI about above error. Their response was that we're the only customer having such issues. Somehow I'm having a hard time believing that.
The issue is that sometimes, when we click a project in Dev Studio (in the built-in explorer) we don't get a directory/file listing but the message "This project is invalid". We've had that problem for ages, and it only happens every now and then. Until today we hadn't bothered reporting it, there were bigger weeds to kill.
Sometimes reloading the project hierarchy pane makes the error go away, but usually we need to restart Dev Studio to be able to access the project again.
Does that sound familiar to anyone?

The question really isn't so much what causes the problem, but whether we're really the only ones with the issue.
To answer your question; no, the projects are on a different system. We access them through IBFS over the network. I do also have projects (and a server) locally, but others here who have the same issues don't and I don't currently have Dev Studio set up to use those projects anyway.

I've seen that happen, but only at one of my clients locations. I ran traces on Dev Studio but never found anything actionable. Like you, just reloaded the environment or restarted DS.

I've seen this happen also. In that particular environment it had something to do with the network and files that were for whatever reason locked at the moment DS wanted to read or write to them. From that moment on this specific error showed up and was only resolved after refresh or restart of DS.
