Any pointer on how to embed a image (source is url) in Report header where output format is PDF. This one is not working : TYPE=HEADING, LINE=3, OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=3, IMAGE="http://webfadh.target.com/wfrimg/pdresourcerecovery.GIF", $ tks/sam
The double quotes around the URL are definitely not going to work. URLs for images in PDF are not officially supported (images should be on the reporting server) but this does work for me in 76:
TABLE FILE CAR HEADING " " " " " " " " SUM RC DC BY COUNTRY BY CAR ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF ON TABLE SET STYLE * TYPE=HEADING, POSITION=(+0.000000 +0.000000), IMAGE=http://localhost:8080/ibi_html/sand.gif,$ ENDSTYLE END
Have played with images and found that for PDF, the image should reside in a mapped directory area, for HTML it should be in the app/ path. Never tried an http:// option.

I'm going to second Leah's comment. Having extensively used images in PDF reports, I would say that using a URL reference is NOT the correct way. We have added an IMAGES directory in the application path that holds all logos, lines, boxes, etc. that will be used in any report. This way, we can simply reference the image's name in the fex without having to worry about where things are. And this directory is easily managed (adding/moving/deleting images) using DevStudio.

Darin

or, if you want to cheat, you can CMD COPY //server/.../mypic.jpg mypic.jpg the image from wherever it resides and plop it in to your agent, then your pdf can embed it. If , say, your images are coming from another application, and you don't want to make a separate directory to hold yet another copy of all your images,
