Hi,

For dispalying a value '-' for MISSING data, I know that We can use SET NODATA = '-'

My problem I have a field which is having a value blank but not 'NULL' kind of thing and

when I checked the length of that blank which it is showing 0(zero). Problem is in the HTML output

for MISSING data my hypen(-) character is showing but for blank kind of data which is having length 0

showing blank white space nothing it was showing. I thought the hypen(-) will be shown but it is not


Anyidea how to handle this kind of situation.

When a value is blank (as opposed to NULL or MISSING) the NODATA character will not be displayed REGARDLESS of the field length. The only way around it is to redefine the field substituting '-' when the field is blank. If you want to preserve the missing values in the defined field, you'll need to add MISSING ON to the left of the equals sign.

What if you don't want to print the field? I can't seem to figure how to do something like:
IF &variable IS MISSING THEN GOTO SKIP ELSE GOTO PRINT
-PRINT
" &variable "
-SKIP
...

or even somethink like:
IF &variable EQ '.' THEN GOTO SKIP else GOTO PRINT
-PRINT
" &variable "
-SKIP
