[CLOSED] Report Caster error: Unable to execute schedules
Hi,
I am unable to execute any schedules from Report Caster. I can run the fex from MRE. But through report caster, when i select a Standard Report and execute it, i get the error

Error connecting to the WebFOCUS Reporting Server EDASERVE: EDA SQL STATUS (-12)
Task error:Pcb2.: java.io.EOFException

Does this have something to do with the execution ID? Is the execution Id really significant in this case?

ANy help will be greatly appreciated!

In anticipation.

That's what a -12 is but it doesn't make sense in your context.

Can you run a schedule from Data Servers, a simple one on the CAR file perhaps? Also try the same thing from MRE to make sure basic functionality works.

Did this used to work and now doesn't? If yes, what changed? Try and do some other tests to prove that is works in one area and fails in another.

The execution id is significant if you are running a secure server. The execution id must be an id on the Solaris box. But if that was bad, you'd get a -17 not a -12.

Usually it's due to a configuration error.
use the caster admin tool to check it out

Your edaprint.log may be helpful, i.e. view log under Workspace > Diagnostics in the WebFOCUS Reporting Server Console. A -12 is a generic return code. Typically, you have connected from the ReportCaster distribution server to the WebFOCUS Reporting Server but some type of severe error was encountered. A server trace will also be of value. I have seen this error occur for a number of reasons.

I'm guessing that your ReportCaster configuration is incorrect. Possibly pointing to a server that is not available or wrong port number or something similar. Check you RC configuration files. There is also a test utility available in the bin directory of the ReportCaster installation directory and another available from the client console that would show certain types of configuration problems.
