Data Management Console -- Can a 7.7 Console Talk to a 7.6 Server?

I am across two different versions right now, with some 7.6.11 servers and some 7.7. I need to develop for both with Data Migrator. Can I use the 7.7 Data Management Console on the 7.6.11 servers? I know the reverse isn't true.

Option 2 -- can I have two versions on one machine without a lot of heartburn involved?

While you need the same release of DataMigrator client and server you can install as many different client releases (DMC) on your PC as you like.
