I am usign the following filedef statement to save pdfs to a destination folder. FILEDEF &REP DISK \\dist.target.com/dfsroot/TSI/TSIPublic/CMR/&REP...PDF i am gettign the error writing to output file foc 350 error sometimes and when i increase the number of dots before the PDF its working fine. can anyone tell me why this is happening so.
Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
Using two dots after an & variable means that you are concatenating strings. So in your case &REP..PDF translates to 'reportPDF', assuming that &REP contains the string 'report'. When you add an extra dot (&REP...PDF) it will translate to 'report.PDF' which is a valid filename. This may be the cause of your problem.
Hope this helps ...

One dot is an indexes variable Two dots is like a concatenate or placing two variables next to each other with out a space inbetween. The third dot is just text.
