I hope some of you can shed some light on a problem. Here is my current environment:
Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise WebFOCUS 8.0.08 Application Server = WebSphere 8.5.5.1 + IIS WebSphere 64 bit plug-in. Web Server = IIS 7.5
I have just completed the installation of WebFOCUS on a new Windows 2008 VM. The default 'out-of-the' box installation works fine. I can access WebFOCUS Client Administration Console, Server Console and Report Caster. All the self-tests are successful.
I have then proceeded to apply a SSL certificate to WebFOCUS IIS 7.5 web server and create additional binding for port 443.
The problem is that I get a IIS Internal server error 500 when I try to access any of the above mentioned components via https. For example BI portal:
http:///ibi_apps work ok via http protocol on port 80 https:///ibi_apps throws Internal Server error 500 over SSL port 443
Same stands for /ibi_help. It works fine over port 80 but does not over https:
I made no other changes to WebFOCUS and WAS appart from applying the SSL certificate to IIS.
I am not certain if this is a WebSphere problem or IIS 7.5 problem. If I create a static html virtual directory in IIS 7.5 , my static contents is served fine via HTTPS.
I have defined a virtual host in WebSphere for both ports 80 and 443.
I would really appreciate any help as I am stuck at this point. Thanks in advance.
This was a WebSphere problem. After changing the IIS plug-in logging level to debug mode the following errors cropped up in the log:
"Failed in r_gsk_secure_soc_init: GSK_ERROR_BAD_CERT(gsk rc = 414)"
