[RESOLVED] Routine to convert current date/time to unix time

Hi,

Is there anyone who has a routine to convert a date / time to unix time ?
example: 2016/04-07 11:02:00 --> 1460041320000

I have this piece of code, but it does not work at all time. Sometimes it returns 0 or 14400000

You might want to do this in a TABLE request instead of Dialogue Manager. Try something like this.

DEFINE FILE CAR
BASE_DT/HYYMDS=DT(19700101);
TODAY_DT/HYYMDS=DT(20160407);
UNIX_TM/I9=(HDIFF(TODAY_DT ,BASE_DT, 'DAY', 'D12.2'))* 86400 ;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT TODAY_DT UNIX_TM
BY COUNTRY
END

Create a DEFINE FUNCTION, then it can be called from TABLE or DM.

I usually do such conversions by querying one of our connected RDBMSes. Those tend to have the appropriate functions readily available, including time zone and DST conversions, whereas WebFOCUS has nothing of the sort.
