Hi
I am new to webfocus.I have created a procedure with template1 in doc format, using developer studio/ Report painter. The user is asking that if he changes the template1 in future without changing positions of data values. Here Template1 should be replaced by new Template2 in the same location. What are the steps to achieve it. Could you pl help me out.
Thanks for the help,
Rama

Providing you use (and your users adhere to) a strict naming convention, you could use a process to collect all the files with a set filename prefix (for instance) within your source directory. Then determine which one has the latest update timestamp and place that filename into a DM variable before using that in your ON TABLE syntax.

I'd use something like CMD DIR [full path to folder / file] /d /b > filedets.txt followed by FILEDEF filelist DISK filedets.txt before -READ of the details and internal evaluation to identify the file I need.

All of the code is very standard you just have to ensure that you use the syntax at the right point and that your design is well thought out.
