We are trying to get to some tables in an Oracle DB and we are not sure how to connect? Will this require a new adaptor and can we use say an ODBC adaptor and create a connection under it? The product is called Majesco. We are using WF 8.1.0.5m

Thanks
JV

Hi Jveselka

Adapters are licensed separately so depending on what adapters you are licensed for you do have a choice. It is highly recommended to use the Oracle Adapter for Oracle tables as the adapter is built to take advantage of Oracle SQL. If you are not licensed for the Oracle Adapter then you can use ODBC but you will need the Oracle ODBC file on the WebFOCUS reporting server machine server in order to use it. JDBC is another option as well but again you will need the Oracle JDBC jar file on the reporting server machine. ODBC and JDBC also are licensed adapter so if you don't own them you will need to purchase something.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using Focal Point!
