Can anyone give me an example of how to read XML files through webfocus.

There is a good document here. In its simplest form, an xml file, demo.xml:

Hi Jan1,

1) Go to WebFocus Reporting Server Console, install XML adapter.

2) Copy your XML file into wfs folder.

3) Create a MFD for your XML.

4) In the procedure, drag and drop all the fields which you would like to displayed on your report.

Remember you have to be licensed for the XML adapter, unless you are using Developer Studio.

Just to change the discussion a little bit. If one has the XML adapter, could one do this?

1. Create .mas from an .xsd file (XML Schema) and
2. Use MODIFY or MAINTAIN to create an XML file.

For example, say I wanted to convert the CAR file to an XML file where someone provided the schema carxml.xsd.

Would adapter let one create a master from carxml.xsd named carxml.mas. Then, could one dump the CAR file and use MODIFY or MAINTAIN to load carxml.xml?
