I am getting the following error when executing a FOCUS program:
(FOC017) THE NUMBER OF TEST CONDITIONS EXCEEDS THE MAXIMUM BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND (FOC009) INCOMPLETE REQUEST STATEMENT
The description says: (FOC017) THE NUMBER OF TEST CONDITIONS EXCEEDS THE MAXIMUM The total length of the literal test values in the IF phrases exceeds the maximum capacity to store the literal data. For FOCUS databases the limit is 32767 literals, for other files the limit is about 3000 characters.
Can anyone tell me how can I resolve this.
Thanks for your help.

All you need to know how to achieve a fix is in the description. Check what your test condition is doing and change it.
It is likely that you have an IF field EQ (filename) or similar and your file will have more than the maximum permitted values or bytes. One way to remedy the problem is to change your selection to use a MATCH process.
See other posts relating to this.

You can't just replace IF with MATCH. What Shrikant most likely meant is that he changed the logic in his report by removing the problematic IF statement(s) from the main selection section (TABLE FILE ..) and implemented a MATCH FILE process instead.
Check the "Creating Reports with WebFOCUS Language" manual for a definition and examples about the MATCH logic. This message has been edited. Last edited by: njsden,
