I am wanting to combine two seperate queries into one Excel workbook as seperate spreadsheets. I'm trying to add a single date prompt for both queries. For one query I need to pull one months worth of data (8/1/07-8/31/07) and the second query will be for historic data for the previous six months (3/1/07-8/31/07). My question is, can I use one prompt that will pull my current data and use the same prompt but subtract 6 months from the start date for the historic data?

Use the AYM date function to subtract six months from the input date:

-SET &DATE1  = '20070831';
-SET &DATE1A = EDIT(&DATE1,'999999$$');

-SET &DATE2A = AYM(&DATE1A, -6, 'I6');
-SET &DATE2 = &DATE2A || '01';

-TYPE &DATE1 &DATE2

Francis gives a nice example. The answer to your question is 'yes'. Your parameter would be what passes to the &DATE1 variable.
