I have suspicion that in Power Painter (as in Report Assistant) it is not possible to write custom SQL statements. (We do not have Power Painter license at this moment, so I can't check it by myself)
Am I right or wrong?
Please answer
Thanks in advance, Alex

You are correct. The ability to write custom SQL statements is not available in our Web-based Client tools (HTML Report Assistant and PowerPainter). It is a feature of our Report Painter tool in Developer Studio.

Hi In past I have found that the ARGLEN, UPCASE and other user defined functions do not function properly in DIALOGUE MANAGER with parsed Parameters EVEN when the &EVAL is used.
Here is a work around. The only thing that I have hard wired is the size of the output field length. I hope that this helps -SET &UPSTR=; -SET &STR=''; -SET &STR1 = 'This is good, but make it better.'; -TYPE &STR1.LENGTH -SET &STR = - SUBSTR(&STR1.LENGTH,&STR1,1,&STR1.LENGTH,&STR1.LENGTH,'A255'); -SET &UPSTR = UPCASE(&STR.LENGTH,&STR, 'A255'); -TYPE &UPSTR
