Actually, I have two combo box, In which first combo is having three column names(Country , Region , City), So I just want that When I select country from the first combo it immediatelly refresh the report and display all values of country in second combo....and same it will do for Region and City.

Please help me.

The way I read your post, I actually read two questions:

1. Refresh the CHOICES in a combo box based on previous selections (known as dynamically linking parameters)

2. Refreshing the OUTPUT of the report itself immediately based on selections in the combo boxes.

I can only help you if you mean option 1.

In WebFOCUS 5.23 and higher, you can dynamically link parameters together via the resource layout tool. What version are you on?

In 5.32 and higher, create the fex in Dev Studio and in the WHERE/IF area. I like to use the Assist feature. You will make your parameters dynamic and specify the table it comes from and the field to use. Your syntax will look something like this:

WHERE ( COUNTRY EQ &COUNTRY.(OR(FIND COUNTRY IN CAR)).Country. );

Note that the last part of the string .Country is the prompt for the user. Also, you need more than one parameter for this to work.

Once your parameters are created, you need to create a new Resource Layout page (this is also done in Dev Studio). You can either Import the existing procedure (the one you made above). Or you can add a button that calls the procedure.

Once it's in the Resource Layout, validate the parameters and select all of them. The order you select them is important because it sets the "logic" for user selection.

When they are all selected, click the "chain link" icon to link them all together.

Obviously this is an abbreviated explanation. Look to the documentation for more detail.

The end result is when you run it, based on whatever the user chooses in parameter 1, that will determine what they can choose from in parameter 2 and so on.
