Afer a hiatus I've jumped onto finalizing a 7=>8 migration project, where the environments have been already installed, migrated and patched up.
Current boxes are 8.1.0.5M with the legacy dashboards support etc. and we're going to develop on domains/portals etc. and get rid of any legacy apps lingering out there.
Now to make sure we don't carry any legacy stuff over, I need a "clean slate" control environment. Idea is to repurpose an existing 8.1.05M dev box, drop the repository tables, refresh/reinstall and recreate the repository. I need to direct the folk installing but I forgot at which point of the setup you get asked if you want the legacy support enabled... and which log files you need to delete so it doesn't read the old configs.
And yes, been reading through the installation manual, but can't seem to locate that. This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

If I am understanding you correctly you want a refreshed 8.1.05 environment without the WebFOCUS 7 Business Intelligence Dashboards (BID). I whole heartily agree with not using those and moving forward with creating WF 8 portals (BIP) in their place. Those BID dashboards are not stored in the repository but remainind in the file system under the \ibi\WebFOCUS81\worp directory. There is a migration utility \ibi\WebFOCUS81\utilities\mr\bid_migrate_extract and bid_migrate_import that were uses to move the WF 7 dashboards into WF 8. A clean install of WF 8.1.05M will refresh the worp directory and as long as no migration jobs are run those legacy dashboards will not be in WF 8. If you want the WF7 content (Domains, Users, and Security) there are separate migration utilities that populate the repository but are independent of the BID migration.
Please let me know if I am off base on what you are trying to achieve.

Thank you for using Focal Point!
