I'm new to the MRE/BID arena. I have a question regarding the "Personalize" Banner Hyperlink. I've been doing some testing and everything was going OK until I allowed myself to be in two domains. I noticed that when I toggled my Views the "Personalize" went away. I've searched this forum and the tech library and can't find a way to retain the "Personalize" hyperlink when swithching domains. Is there a workaround? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
Though it may seem odd - I think this is normal behaviour, I'm not sure it's explained well in the documentation.
Users that are only in one group have only one view. When they log-in, a "Private View" is created which can be personalized.
Users that are in more than one group have more than one view. This is where my confusion lies - I assumed a "Private View" is still created, but now I'm not so sure - how can more than one private view be created for users with multiple views.
This documentation doesn't appear to clarify things. it is specified here that a private view is created from a public view, but I see this happening even when the user logs in and sees a group view (when they are part of only one group).
Managing Private Views Private views are each user's personalized view of Dashboard. A user can personalize the Dashboard by placing reports from the available domains in the Content area of the Dashboard. Users cannot customize the look of the Dashboard.
A private view is created for users when they connect to the Dashboard with their own Managed Reporting user ID and password. The private view is based on the general public view or custom public view from where the user logs in. From here, the user can begin to personalize the content in the private view.
Private views are secure in that a user must enter a valid Managed Reporting user ID and password. Each user can only access domains that the Administrator makes available in the Managed Reporting Administration interface.
Private views are not available to Library Only Users.

WebFOCUS Online Help > Managed Reporting Administrator > Managing Dashboard > Managing Group Views
Managing Group Views Group views allow you to create a secure Dashboard view for the members of an Managed Reporting repository group. Only members of the group can see the view. The user must enter a valid Managed Reporting user ID and password to access the group view.
In each view, the Administrator selects a banner, the colors, composition, and content. Since the Administrator selects the content of the group view, the user can only access certain applications or reports.
Users will not be able to personalize a group view. This means the users cannot customize the look or the content.
When a user logs into Dashboard, they can see the views that have been created for each group, including a link to "My View". They can also personalize their own Dashboard view (not the group view).
A group member who has the Library Only User role can not access the Group View. A Library Only Group View is available to these users.

Francis, thank you for the responses. A user who is defined with multiple domains and/or groups still has a "Private View"; it appears to be limited to the group view that they are assigned to (accomplished through the BID View Builder -> Manage Users). Looks like I'm at a dead end.
