Why is it so hard to align across columns in PDF?

I'd like this to look better, have the data columns right justified to the across column values:

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES/D10 AS ''
ACROSS BODYTYPE
BY COUNTRY
ON TABLE SET PAGE NOLEAD
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=REPORT, SQUEEZE=ON, BORDER=ON, FONT='ARIAL', SIZE=7, LEFTGAP=0.02, RIGHTGAP=0.02, $
TYPE=ACROSSVALUE, STYLE=BOLD, COLOR=RED, JUSTIFY=RIGHT, $

TYPE=DATA, JUSTIFY=RIGHT, $
ENDSTYLE

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
END

Well, that just happens to be one I've seen before. Believe it or not, the culprit is the SQUEEZE=ON. For whatever reason, the recalculation of the column width screws up the justification. I would just remove it altogether and if you need to squeeze a particular column (like COUNTRY) then set it back on for that column (or just set a static WIDTH=n.)

Darin

Darin, thanks, that works!

Removing the leftgap and rightgap messes things up too!

Francis,
It's not the leftgap and rightgap things that mess it up.
It's the font. If you take out the font entirely or if you set it to verdana, everything is ok again, even with leftgap and rightgap specified. It still acts strange with SQUEEZE on though.
