Hi all, As of now iam having a only little bit of knowledge on MR.in our project we have created one dashborad ie we have created only Shortcut file in MR to like the Fex files in WebFOCUS Data server and all the report devlopment are done only in Dataserver. and we have assosiated this MR shortcut file in the Dashboard
I know that we can also able to creat an Starndard reprot in MR.
regarding this i have two questions
1) what is the differece between creating the Report in DataServer and in MR starndard reports
2)now my clients are requesting for Reports by Email also. so is possible to link the reports in dataserver to ReportCaster(as of now we are having all the reports in data server)

1) By definition, reports in Data Servers are considered self-service and do not have any inherent security. Also the focexecs, etc. reside on the Reporting Server platform under the ibi/apps directory structure. MRE programs have user and group security and reside in the basedir directory structure and are considered part of the WF Client. This is a very simplistic answer so let us know if you need more.
2)You absolutely can schedule Data Server reports in Report Caster. We do it all the time.
I would also suggest strengthening your knowledge of the Managed Reporting Environment (both administrative and end user) by training courses or at least reading through the manuals before trying to tackle any "projects" that will use it. If not, you're asking for trouble that the kind folks on the Focal Point Forum are not going to be able to help you with.
Regards,
Darin
