I Have built 2 screens using the HTML layout painter. I wanted to drill down from one report in the first screen to the second screen.

Here is the code that works:

TYPE=HEADING,
LINE=1,
JUSTIFY=CENTER,
TARGET=_parent,
URL=xrpt01.cppib.ca/ibi_apps/Controller? (WORP_REQUEST_TYPE='WORP_LAUNCH_CGI' IBIMR_action='MR_RUN_FEX' WORP_OLAP='false' IBIMR_domain='cppibrep/cppibrep.htm' IBIMR_folder='#assetmixrept' IBIMR_fex='app/qjzbpcr2.htm' WORP_CURRENT_FEX_TITLE='Daily+Dashboard+4' WORP_MENU_CODE='2,19,22' IBIMR_sub_action='MR_STD_REPORT'),
$

I had to hard code the server, the domain, the folder, and the html file. Is there a way not hard these?

are these within a dashboard? are they (the FEXs) both on the same server/MRE? You should just be able to execute a FEX (FOCEXEC=fexname) instead of using a URL=. Can't help much more without additional environment/version info.

They are pages build with HTML layout painter and are therefore HTML pages not fexes. When I use the visual tool to create a drill down, they do not even appear. I am running this in BI dashboard, WF 7.13.

so you're wanting to drill down to another HTML page? I don't think this is the way you want to go. At least put the HTML inside a FEX with -HTMLFORM. Then you drill down to a FEX, but get it in an HTML page. It will make everything a lot easier and cleaner.

Here is an example of how to link an item on a report to an HTML page. You need to give it the URL.

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES
BY COUNTRY
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=DATA, COLUMN=SALES, URL=http://www.ibi.com,$
ENDSTYLE
END

Right - if you're using URL, you have to hard-code it - thw whole URL string.

I don't use MR, so this may be off the wall.

In the drill down on heading, call a focexec, say LINKFEX.FEX. In that focexec have:

-HTMLFORM app/qjzbpcr2

In non-MR, all the parameters you need are added for you. What happens in MR, ???
