I am working on a business view of a synonym in App Studio (8.2.01) using dimension view. I am trying to alphabetize the items within a dimension. (There are no hierarchies involved). After I get them in alphabetical order and save, they rearrange themselves into a random order when I close and reopen the synonym, or when I try to open it in InfoAssist...
I have tried rearranging in text view, and have also tried rebuilding the dimension from scratch. Nothing works. Has anyone else experienced this, and how did you solve? Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

Another note... It seems that the items rearrange themselves into the same order that they appear in the Field View. I thought you could override this by rearranging in dimension view. However, is there a setting somewhere that keeps reverting them back to the order that they appear in the field view?

Our synonym view always renders the order of the fields in which the SQL view has been created. Can you tell if that is the default order for you as well? I have just always altered my SQL view if I need them in a different order, I wasn't aware there was a way to move them around within one of the synonym views.
