Hello, Can anyone please share their views on Mainframe FOCUS 7.7 version like New Featues, Advantages, Challenges faced while migrating from 7.3 to 7.7 Any help is appreciated. Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Kathryn Henning>,
FOCUS for Mainframe release 7.7.03M offers many new features such as adding the AHTML format for Active Reports. It also provides increases to a number of limits such as BY/ACROSS phrases and JOINs. You can get additional information by clicking on 'Cover Letter' on FOCUS - What's Hot.
Be aware that there may be code changes required when migrating from V7.3.7 to V7.7.03. This is because of IBI code tightening. Read the RELEASE NOTES carefully and analyze your situation. Many, if not all of the changes are downward compatible to V7.3.7, so you can start planning and make the code changes before migration. Read the installation instructions carefully. Many of the libraries are combined, that is, load libraries are now combined into one load library and same for some of the ...data libraries. IBI install procedures provides alias names as part of the installation to old library names. Just a heads up. Migrating from v7.3.7 to V7.7.03 is a big jump in code.
