[CLOSED]PDF vs. HTML question....
Hi,

I have a WebOCUS report that runs correctly in HTML -- When I put it into PDF --- on table PCHOLD format PDF --- it does not list all of the output... It gives me the first 2 pages and then produces an error message.

Does anyone know the limit on the number of pages that a PDF can successfully produce?

I receive the following error message: There was a problem reading this document (14).
It is an Adobe REader error message.

Thanks in advance.

I've had reports produce close to 10,000.

I think I have also seen this error before, and it may be to do with the content of the PDF not being created correctly.

Can you determine what what on that page ?

I am not sure what you mean by "what what"

ADOBE "requires" different css elements, can't have the same for all output.
Need to branch on output and invoke the correct styling...

Usually the PDF file is either good or corrupt. I've not seen a WF generated PDF report that opens and only produces an error after scrolling through a few pages. Is there a bad character somewhere on page 3? You could verify that by looking at the HTML version...

I did have to wrap many columns -- do you think that could have anything with that.

Wrapping shouldn't be a problem.

I would temporarily comment out some columns and maybe add a RECORDLIMIT. Then increment the number of columns and number of rows.

Thank you Francis.

I have examined the HTML and there does not appear to be a bad value or character.

Waz -- Not sure exactly what is on the page --- If I run the report and select individual values it runs correctly --- if I select ALL and then it has to do more processing.

My 1st thought is WRAP doesn't work in ADOBE, SQUEEZE does.

Tom, hmmmm...will have to check out squeeze -- I have wrap on all the reports specifically for pdf --- otherwise the reports were way too wide --- and it has been working.

Maybe something funky on this one though. Thanks for the suggestion.
