Is it possible to have an Excel Output open in Excel (not browser) and not show the message box along with that annoying empty browser window.
Currently, my Excel outputs does open Excel but also contains a message box and an extra IE blank window. I have over 100 users and this is one of their top complaints..They just dont like it.

sorry, I looked at that before I posted this. It would require all 100+ users to go do this themselves..which you do not want them to do. Plus it opens in a browser and not Excel..which we do not want either.

Joe, unfortunately, any solutions or work-arounds you find here will most likely require the Excel or web browser user to make a change on the client side...

I think the popup you're describing might be due to Office 2007+'s extension hardening. See this topic for the solution to that (at the bottom):

We applied that registry change through our group policies.
