[SOLVED]How to include a holiday calendar in report caster scheduling

I created a holiday calendar and would like report caster to include it when creating the next run time. I do not want to create blackout dates. I want the report caster schedules to take into consideration the holidays and calculate to run on the next business date. Is this possible to configure report caster to use a holiday calendar to determine next run times? Thanks in advance.

I don't believe there is a way to have ReportCaster directly honor a holiday schedule. Another approach is to create a separate fex that uses the DATEADD function or other method to determine if today is a holiday or not and then sets the ReportCaster variable &&KILL_RPC accordingly. You would identify this fex as a pre-processing step in the ReportCaster schedule. When &&KILL_RPC is set to 'Y', all subsequent processing is stopped for that schedule.

Dan, thanks for the reply. I am scheduling reports that will run on the first business day of each month. To use a pre-processing fex, it appears that I would need to set the schedule to run daily. If this is my only solution, I am okay with it. But is there any way to schedule these reports monthly and use a pre-processing fex?

Unless someone else replies to this post with a solution, you might consider opening a case with IBI to see what they recommend. Barring a better solution, you could schedule your job to run every day for the first 4 days of each month. That range should cover the case where the first falls on a Saturday and is followed by Sunday and a holiday. You would need to increase the number of days the schedule runs every month if there is any possibility that the first business day could occur after the 4th day.

I did exactly what Dan suggested. it works. In your case just schedule it to run on the first 3 - 5 day of each month

@ dcorp: Your pre-processing fex will need to do two things. First, determine if the current date is the first business day of the month. Second, determine if the report has already run for the month. Then set &&KILL_RPC accordingly. To determine if the report has already run for the month, you can check to see if the current date is greater than the first business day of the month. If so, then the report should have already run.
