Have you tried SET MESSAGE = OFF

Yes i've tried SET MESSAGE = OFF and all other message killers like ECHO WARNING etc

what solved the problem was:
before running the SQL:

SQL SQLDBM
SET PASSRECS OFF;
END

and after of course:
SQL SQLDBM
SET PASSRECS ON;
END
