JAVA gurus using WFAPI.jar (765)

Are there any java gurus out there that are using the WebFOCUS API? I have a java application running where the WebFOCUS client 5.3.3 is embedded in the java application versus running on a server. I am trying to upgrade to WebFOCUS Client 765 and using the WFAPI as well. I am close to getting it to work but have to get by this particular error: javax.servlet.ServletException: ibi/srv/nls/NlsSrv.putValue(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String

the getServlet (java.lang.String Name) is deprecated as of java servlet api 2.1. I dont think there is a direct replacement
