We are trying to create light blue background for different column sections. For example, the first section contains two colunms with a light blue background, the 2nd section contains two columns with a white background, and the 3rd section contains two columns with a light blue background.
It works well with the detail: TYPE=DATA, COLUMN=CATEGORY, BACKCOLOR=RGB(234 234 255), $ TYPE=DATA, COLUMN=PRODUCT, BACKCOLOR=RGB(234 234 255), $
When we try to apply it to the SUBFOOT, the RIGHTGAP remains white. TYPE=SUBFOOT, BY=CATEGORY, OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=1, BACKCOLOR=RGB(234 234 255), POSITION=N2,$ TYPE=SUBFOOT, BY=CATEGORY, OBJECT=FIELD, ITEM=1, BACKCOLOR=RGB(234 234 255), POSITION=N3,$
I have an example that runs on GGSALES that I can send you if you request it ... it is too long to post here. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Is my signature different than my Profile? I have WF 7.6.9 in my profile ... I don't know where the signature came from. Sorry, I don't use this very often.

My coworker suggested I go ahead and submit the code so you could run it and see. I'm trying the shade sections 1 and 3 and leave section 2 white. I am on WF 7.6.9.
You cannot specify a piece of the background colour in a subfoot line - it has to be the whole SUBFOOT line. However, you CAN colour an individual object on an individual line of a SUBFOOT. And you CAN color individual lines of a SUBFOOT.
I have noticed that the GAPs really only seem to affect the DATA columns in the report. HEADINGs, FOOTINGs, SUBHEADs, etc. seem to be a bit flaky when it comes to GAPs. That's why when you start positioning HEADING items over columns you really need to take complete control over the process and position everything and set the WIDTHs of each component. That way nothing is left to chance or default. As the old saying goes: DEFAULT and DISASTER both start with 'D'.
Thanks!
Mickey
