The following relates to Master files of SQL tables.

Developer Studio helps you create a Clustered Master (CM) from SQL tables in one of 2 ways:
1. by reference of a Master describing an SQL table
2. by copy of a Master describing an SQL table

What happens if the Master you are referencing is itself a CM?
In that case DS allows only a copy.
During copy, you are asked to choose which segments to copy.
Now the problem:
1. In the "child" CM there is a DEFINE which uses fields from different segments. These fields are qualified with the segment name.
2. These segments could be used twice in the "parent" CM. And this is what happens:
3. The DEFINE is thus copied twice.
4. However, for the second copy, WebFOCUS modifies the segment names (which is necessary) but does not change the qualifiers of the DEFINE and it has to be done manually.

Question: is there a setting that would make this automatic?

Waz.

Very true...
However, the customer is a bit stubborn...
I'll open a case.
