Does WebFOCUS uses any third party database to use its information or all its data is saved in the flat files?

Of course you could use any of your other DB's as well as a data source or store.

There is not a default location per se. If the table is create with HOLD FORMAT FOCUS, the default location is the edatemp folder for the agent running the program, but using different APP commands or USE statements they can be created and stored just about anywhere you want.

If the file is permanent, they can be stored just about anywhere the Reporting Server can see. We store ours in the baseapp folder because that folder is always in the application path.

In FOCUS since 1985. Prod WF 8.0.08 (z90/Suse Linux) DB (Oracle 11g), Self Serv, Report Caster, WebServer Intel/Linux.
