[SOLVED by IB] Master File Joins
I updated a master file by joining it with another file and refreshed.

When I go back to a fex I already had with that master file in it, it is not coming up with the newly joined file and it's fields.

Advice please?
Thanks, Julie

Julie,

I think we need a little more information. I assume you are in Developer Studio. Are you in the Procedure Viewer and modified one of the boxes to add a JOIN? Did you run that box after updating it before going to the Report box and re-opening Report Painter?

Am I close in describing what you were doing? If not, could you please clarify?

I'm in the server piece, where you define master files in the first place. Sorry for the confusion.

I've joined the file successfully, and refreshed the metadata. Now I'm in my report, which did not have that join defined before. Do I need to define the join in the Developer Studio also?

Thanks,
Julie

When you say server piece, do you mean the web console?

Did you do a compound master with the join embedded?

Where did you do the join?

Hi Julie,

Can this be a "caching" problem? What happens if you try to open a new report?

Cheers,

Kerry

Did you make sure that you have the latest .mas of the file in your folder?
