Is there any record limit in InfoAssist before it can open in a new window / even if opening in new window when the data is queried without any filter eg: output set has over 64000 records the output screen gives error as IE has some issues and closes off.

Slicers Menu -> Record Limit Group -> Run Time: All (change All to some other available value - don't enter your own value in here, just select from the list)

Are you referring to run time? As in the browser closes or errors out before the table finishes running? Most browsers have a time out limit, scheduling the report to an email and then opening it afterwards fixes this issue. I have never been faced with a record limit, however many of my reports will time out in browser, I have to schedule them.

I am calling Info Assist Report Into a Panel in Portal when there are huge data output the report tends to open in new page. How can we control this without using record limit option.

I believe the rule of thumb (for the lack of any technical supporting documentation known to me) is about max. 30000 records per page before some web browsers, with IE being the first one, might start having troubles rendering the page. As for InfoAssist opening the page in a new window I don't know if there is another, separate limit for this. But it may well be the same as the one mentioned above.

Rajna, I believe the setting you are looking for is in the Administration Console under Client Settings -> General -> IBIWF_redirNewWindowSize . The default is 400,000 bytes, bumping it up should resolve your issue with browser errors or new windows opening.
