I haven't found any info for the "default visibility" property in Dev Studio HTML Composer - setting this property for a list box to off or on makes no difference.
Instead, I used the Style Composer to modify the Layout settings - changed Display to "Do not display". The stupid, stupid, stupid thing about this is it renders the control invisible in the HTML Composer - this should NOT happen in the composer, only in the web browser!!! The only way to undo this is to open the code - which is NOT what the HTML Composer is supposed to be about. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

The canvas in the HTML Composer is the browser. It is Internet Explorer in design mode. The property takes affect to show a "live preview".

Ah, one of those "WHAT just happened?" moments. Sounds familiar.
You can still navigate to the element in the Properties pane, using the dropdown at the top. If you can recognise which one it is, that is - generated names after all.
I do this when the HTML composer places new elements behind the output iframe, for example, or when it generates a form and I need to access an element INSIDE that form (which is surprisingly hard...).

This "default visibility" property has disappeared from the 7.6.11 version of Dev Studio HTML Composer - I guess it was removed since it wasn't working...
njsden, the frustration comes from not being able to achieve what is expected from the GUI but spending hours trying to.
