I have a little doubt, so I need a help if someone of you have tried to put a lot of users in WebFOCUS using an external process.
Our customer has about 700 to 800 users in the company using AD (Active Directory), so to put everyone of these users in WebFOCUS one by one using the Managed Reporting Administration will take a long period of time.
We're using mrrealmdb tables with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 specifically.
I would like to know if I can use a sql script (or another external process) in order to load these 700 - 800 users into the mrrealmdb BD tables. Is there any inconvenient with WebFOCUS if I try to do this?.
I have a spreadsheet that IBI gave me years ago that might help. I went from users being stored in basedir to inserting them into SQL Server 2005. This may work for you as it creates the SQL, you just need to fill in the values.
Thanks Waz for your suggestion but, are you talking about to "Create the Authorization Tree in Active Directory" for "Configuring Active Directory Authorization" from the "WebFOCUS Security and Administration" guide?.
If your answer is yes, I showed that to our customer but they don't want to create another AD Tree for WebFOCUS so they prefer to have these users in the mrrealmdb tables using SQL Server 2005.
