[CLOSED] App Studio - 8008 - Multiple Master Files
I just upgraded my Dev Client/Server to 8008.

I fired up a Virtual Machine and installed my first copy of Application Studio 8008.

I went to an existing application under the content folder. That application has several sub-folders to keep things separated.

Ex:
myRoot
myRoot/Afolder
myRoot/Bfolder

I created a new HTML page. I dropped in a report frame. Then I then tried to make a new Report based off the CAR file.

I see a CAR master file, in the Open File widget, in EVERY folder.

Ex:

car | 2.83kb | MAS FILE | 2/6/13 1:37PM | IBFS:/Development/WFC/Repository/myRoot
car | 2.83kb | MAS FILE | 2/6/13 1:37PM | IBFS:/Development/WFC/Repository/myRoot/Afolder
car | 2.83kb | MAS FILE | 2/6/13 1:37PM | IBFS:/Development/WFC/Repository/myRoot/Bfolder

Is this normal? It seems odd. They all have the same size and timestamp...but - I thought it odd that a single CAR file is listed once per folder.

I'm digging through the documentation to see if this is just new - but so far - I'm not seeing anything like that.

Looks like you missed the advisory that was sent out. Here is the web version

Technical Tip - WebFOCUS App Studio "Show All Files in Associated Paths"

It's a new feature!

Cheers

The masters are visible in each of those folders. They are all the same so you can select any instance. This will be different in 8009 though. The master will show once.

Thanks for the info.

Different now - and different again in 8009.
