In AIX 5.1, if the reportcaster process schbkr is running and you shut down the server, that process isn't killed by the regular shutdown process. If you didn't manually kill it before shutting down, your server will hang on that process and not be able to shut down, forcing you to turn the server off.
I know that the stopit process is supposed to kill the process but that doesn't happen if there is an error. Has anyone found a way to force this process to die during a shutdown?
Has this issue regarding "schbkr not died during regular shutdown" been resolved? You mentioned this "doesn't happen if there is an error." What is the error message?
