Hi I am currently involved in upgrading wf and have to write up the process so I might as well post this online so as to be of use to others and also get some feedback for myself.

We parallel run different versions of wf and so have to have them listen on different ports to the standard which are:

IIS: 80
Server: 8120 TCP, 8121 HTTP, 8122 SU, 8123 JSCOM
Client: 8128 TCP, 8129 HTTP, 8131 JSCOM (no longer required for 7.6)
Reportcaster: 8200

These are all stored in files and not in the registry

To change over stop all services IIS, Server Client

1. IIS
(a) In IIS Manager on the first shown tab of properties for the Website change the port. You may have to click on advanced and change the headers to pick up possible names of the website too.
(b) edasprof.prf needs to change BASEURL and FOCEXURL to reflect the new ports
(c) If reportcaster is used then use the start menu based facility* to change the encrypted dserver.xmls
(i) Library - Default Library URL
(ii) MR Info - Repository Node

* Start - Webfocus - Rcaster - Distribution Server - Configuration - Edit
Make sure you expand all the plus signs because a lot of stuff is hidden beneath these!

2. Server
(a) Edit srvxx/etc/odin.cfg or use the server console
(b) Edit client/etc/odin.cfg setting for EDASERVE or use client console
(c) If mre is authorised through edaserve then edit mrrealm.cfg or use client console
(d) If reportcaster is used then use the start menu based facility to change the encrypted dserver.xmls
(i) General - Default Setting - Default WebFOCUS server
(ii) Data Server - WebFOCUS Server List - EDASERVE - Server Config - Use URL - URL

3. Client - edit client/etc/odin.cfg or use client console - now with 7.6 generally not needed

4. Reportcaster

(a) Use the start menu based facility to change the encrypted dserver.xmls
General - User Info - Console Port
(b) Edit cgivars.wfs or use client console
(c) Edit webfocus76/webapps/rcaster76/WEB-INF/web.xml
(d) Edit reportcaster/bin/classpath.bat

With this check list it should be possible to change ports in about 15 mins making this method suitable for production installs.
