I am pulling data from oracle database; Table Name: Event_Detail, Field Name: DT_Posting The field DT_Posting with date which displays as follows 04/16/2002, 4/17/2002 02/10/205 etc I would like to have an -IF statement which will group all 2002, 2003, 2004, 2004 data, also create a static WHERE CLAUSE which will let the user select Example: WHERE (Event_Detail. Event_Detail. DT_Posting EQ '& DT_Posting.(<2003,2003>,<2004,2004>,<2005,2005>,<2006,2006>,<2007,2007>Posting.' ); Please let me know if this is possibleThis message has been edited. My first advice is do some study at formulas.. in fact it is all in the documentation
I suppose the field DT_posting is a real date field (and not a alphafield)
DEFINE FILE XXXX
YEAR/YY=DT_POSTING;
END
TABLE FILE XXX
PRINT *
WHERE YEAR EQ '2004';
END
There also are many many questions on this forum about converting date fields. and there is a great book...(almost) 1001 ways ....etc you should buy it.
