ImhoffUpgrading JVM for WebFocus 5.1
I need to upgrade a WebFocus/Focus 5.1 server to the 1.4 JVM. I assume this should be a relatively safe and straightforward process but was hoping for some feedback prior to making the plunge.
Thanks for your help!

<TSR123>Hi Michael,
You can take a look at the following URL which shows you the compatible/supported releases of Java with WebFOCUS:

ImhoffIs there any way for me to view this information without having a valid maintenance contract?
Thanks for your help,
Michael

Darin LeeIn a forum where most everyone else pays for maintenance, I would say that's not an appropriate question. You want support, you get it the same way everyone else does.

ImhoffForgive me but I simply feel that this is common information that companies should provide to customers whether they have a current maintenance agreement or not.
Having to pay for basic information regarding approved JVM versions just seems a bit over the top after paying thousands and thousands of dollars over the years.
This isn't a situation where I really need a support person to walk me through something, or even answer a question, it's just basic information contained on a webpage or in a pdf.
Am I >really< asking too much here?
Sorry if I've offended anyone with this request.
Have a good day,
Michael

Darin LeeIn your situation, the answer would be to go ahead and upgrade. If everything still works, you're golden. If it doesn't, you're going to need tech support (and maintenance) anyway. That's the chance you take.
I have not run into any issues with JVM upgrades.

Darin
