First time poster, thanks in advance for any help.
Our customer base consists of very high level executive types, and we want this to be as simple as possible for them (and us!)
In the past, for other applications, we would send out a link via e-mail, they would open the browser, and then they would add the link displayed in the address bar to their favorites.
But in managed reporting, this does not seem to work.
We have NT single sign on enabled, as they would refuse to enter yet another password, so we send out this link, which works fine the first time
and again will not work as a favorite because of the session ID.
What link can we send to the customer that is a reliable link that they can add to their favorites, like any normal web page?
Are there any other solutions? Perhaps we send a script that adds this to their favorites for them, because we will not win this one with the audience, it is way too complicated to manually add a favorite to IE if you do not do it "normally".
Thanks again RickThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
Thanks for the great suggestion, as this also solved another issue, in that we needed to track the usage of the various dashboards, and with a launcher, we can capture the user ID and then populate an SQL table with the user, dashboard name, etc.
It seems that future versions should use a URL that is “savable” in IE favorites, but solution does work.
