Anyone know of a technique that allows you to extract the selected value from an OLAP drop down box?
Example: Using TABLE FILE CAR - selecting "JAGUAR" from the OLAP dimension drop down box, and inserting the value "JAGUAR" in the heading or passing the value as a paramter to a drill down? Thanks.
I don't think this is possible. Reasoning: the olap request is being included in the olap page. This request is preparsed, where all dialog manager statements are removed and all variables are resolved and then stored in javascript arrays. The usual way to get the selected variable from the html page into your heading is to use the &variable that gets created for it. But, since the request does not contain any &vars any more you can't show the value of that variable. If anyone thinks otherwise, please let us know, so we may continue learning...
