You can define a new field with the function

DATEFIELD/YYMD=HDATE(TIMESTAMP, 'YYMD')

Roby :
When you generate MFDs using the Synonym creator in MRE, Timestamp fields are defined as HYYMDm. But from a long time, we have been in the habit of always editing this MFD to change the format to A26 right away. Does not cause any issues and it makes it easy to just get the date piece by using EDIT(TSTMP,'9999999999').

Caveat : If you use SQL pass-thru, the Timestamp field retains the original HYYMDm format in the hold files. Trying to combine it with another Timestamp field defined as A26 in the MFD will cause issue. One or the other should be re-formatted to do the match.

Goooooooooooood day !!
