I'm trying to use ReportCaster to burst reports to multiple email addresses. I've been successful in getting the report to burst, but the Excel files that are distributed only include the sheet with the data, and not the sheet I'm using to do calculations, formatting, etc. It appears that the template is not being used.
The report output is set to EXL2K, I've configured the template so data should populate on the second sheet.
Does anyone know if there is a way to burst reports while using Excel templates?
Thanks...This message has been edited. Last edited by: Justin C,
I'm running on Excel 2003 and I am able to get the template to work if I don't try to burst the report, but as soon as I set it up in Reportcaster to burst to multiple email addresses the other worksheets I have in the template disappear.
I'm assuming the bursting takes precedence somehow over the use of the template. I'm hoping I'm just missing something, and it's not a limitation of WebFocus.
I my opinion, you got what I would have expected as the Excel archive is created before the bursting occurs (I think).
To be able to burst an Excel Template output, RC would have to work slightly differently (fairly sure).
I do not think that you can do this with the current RC abilities unless you save off all the Excel files and then distribute them via a mail merge process of sorts? ... or single file processing without bursting ... which is one of the selling points of RC.
Happy to be proved wrong
