AHTML Reports are limited to 5,000 records in IE, unless Active Cache is used. We also have the Active Flex implementation if disconnected access is required for answersets in excess of 5,000 records.

For those who are reading this... I also found a few minutes ago in the June 2007 Best Practices: HTML Active Reports: Considerations for Development and Deployment 7.6.2 that FireFox's and Netscape's limitation is 20,000 Records = 25 records per page * 800 pages. It also states the limitation of columns is 25.

I updated the Best Practices document you mentioned to include Active Cache and Active Flex a month ago and it is due to be published when the 7.6.9 release goes production.

7.6.9 should go production shortly. The current target is mid-April.

Would Active Cache also solve the problem that causes browsers to choke when you have chained list boxes in a launch page?
For example, the first 3 list boxes can have from 1 to about 100 values. The 4th can have up to 4,000. Using "ALL" in all 4 list boxes causes the browsers choke. Taking the "ALL" option off the first list box solves the problem, but we still need the "ALL" choice for it.
Thank you,
John

It might help here. I have never tried it myself. Remember though that controls need to have all the values within them so it would need to be tested.

DON'T. It won't work. Find some way to summarize or break it up into smaller pieces. The browser just won't handle that much.
