I am hitting a few roadblocks here. I have a request that requires a subquery, and I believe in webfocus this is accomplished via a hold file. So I am trying to create a hold file (for the 1st time) and this is what is giving me problems.
I found a few webpages that explain how to do this (like this) but I get hung up on the bit where I'm supposed to go to the Home tab > Format group. I suppose I'm using a different version of AppStudio, because in 8201 I don't see a Format group under Home. I've searched for creating a hold file in 8201 but I haven't found anything.
Now... I see a Format tab however. When I try to do similar steps (as the above link) from the Format tab I also hit roadblocks. I've tried to modify the Output format to binary and I changed the destination. But when I try to access that ftm/mas file from a new report it is not showing up. It is creating the file; I see it in the default WebFocus portal but it doesn't show up as a source when creating a new report. I tried refreshing with no success either.
And btw... if its not obvious, I'm new to WebFocus. I'm finding that AppStudio crashes a little too much, do you folks have that experience too? Right now all I can use is the GUI, the code is too over my head at the moment, but I will be going on code training next week.

Uggh... nevermind... I tried doing this via the Format tab again, but this time I restarted App Studio and the newly created masterfile showed up. Can't say I'm loving my early experience with App Studio so far.
