Is there a way to access focexec's within application subfolders in Developer Studio.

For example the focexec can reside as follows

C:\ibi\apps\ibisamp\revenue\2005\fex1.fex
C:\ibi\apps\ibisamp\revenue\2006\fex1.fex
C:\ibi\apps\ibisamp\sales\fex1.fex

The procedure folder does not display subfolders in Dev Studio.

TIA

If you've ever looked at the applications as stored on WebFOCUS, in my case as MRE standard reports, the product has this nice visual tree structure on screen, but under the covers there is an 'app' directory and an html file that defines the domain structure as you view it on screen. It is not a true directory as you would think. I believe that the same would be true if you are developing locally on your own machine.

The simple answer is no, there is not. The design of the application folders within DS (as opposed to the app folder in MRE) is a physical folder under the IBI/APP folder.

I suppose you could try playing with the client settings for APPROOT but I cannot see why you would want to as the whole subfolder set-up of the APPROOT should be sufficient.

Perhaps if you explained why you would like to do this?

Leah, I am using the standard reporting application in Developer Studio and not MRE.

Tony, we have a few 100 focexec's saved on a network drive functionally grouped within subfolders. These focexecs were written Using WF 43 in which I believe (correct me if i am wrong) it did not matter where the focexecs reside. The person who wrote these focexecs is retiring and these need to be used by other collegues who have WF76 installed. I can map to the remote folder but DS displays only those focexecs in the root folder.

One work around I have figured is to use the Command -> Text Editor Option. We can browse subfolders within Web Applications (by copying the entire directory to C:\ibi\apps\ folder)when using the text editor. Opening a file this way enables the run option. The run option is disabled when opening a file with text editor directly by right clicking on the file name within web application.

I was wondering if there is a better way.

Thanks

Mickey,

If you're using APP MAP then could you not map directly to individual subfolders?

Yes I can and I guess thats my only option. I was hoping it was not as there are too many subfolders from over a decade and it would be quite a task to map to each of them.

Thanks
