InfoAssist Basic Slow Drag/Drop
We are currently using InfoAssist Basic and when we drag a field over to the By area it is taking upwards of 30 seconds for the field to be dropped. Just hangs for a while before displaying the field. I am thinking that the issue is that the table is being accessed each time and since most of our tables are firly large and it is taking some time.

Same thing happens when clicking OK when adding a filter.

I was thinking that a solution might be to use sample data, but the option is greyed out on the Home tab. Anyone else ran into this issue or have a solution?

Thanks!

Rob

Same experience here.. slowness when adding a field to an IA report. Lowering the number of preview records did not help.

try using the Sample data instead of Data Source. Does the table are really large ?

I see the option to use Sample data, but it is grayed out. My first thought was that the data size was too much, but I don't have the ability to use Sample data. Might be a system setting somewhere to enable the option, but I haven't found it.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi

The sample/live data should be relevant only for the full IA in which you have an intercative mode to design the reports.
IA Basic should be compatible regarding functionality to the HTML wizard so you have only the Query mode in which there should be no retrieval of sample or live data.
Do you get the same performance when you try to create report against IBI sample files such as CAR? If the answer is positive the issue could be related to broswer settings (in IE especially do not allow the XSS filter in security settings )

Anyone who is having this problem should please open a case with our support team. IA Basic does not go against the data as Eran points out.
