Hey,

does anyone know, if SOUNDEX is supported in 5.2.5. ?

I just migrated from 4.3.6. to 5.2.5.
and it seems, that SOUNDEX is not found or has changed !!!!!!!!!!!

I now get an error message
(FOC36355) UNZULSSIGER ARGUMENTTYP #1 FR BENUTZER FUNKTION SOUNDEX

but I didn't change anything !

Here's an example with the CAR file

DEFINE FILE CAR
PHON_1/A4 = SOUNDEX(5, MODEL, PHON_1);
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
MODEL
PHON_1
BY CAR
END

Thx Achim

DEFINE FILE EMPLOYEE
PHON_NAME/A4 = SOUNDEX('15', LAST_NAME,PHON_NAME);
PHON_COY/A4 WITH LAST_NAME = SOUNDEX('15', 'MICOY', PHON_COY);
PHON_MATCH/A3 = IF PHON_NAME IS PHON_COY THEN 'YES' ELSE 'NO';
END

TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE
PRINT LAST_NAME
IF PHON_MATCH IS 'YES'
END

hope this helps

Achim,

WF gets more tough in controlling our syntax. So some syntax errors may have passed the parser and be executed correctly in the past. But they will fail now. In WF525 they especially enhanced the checking for parameters to UWS. You have to be strict in format and sometimes even with values for those parameters (like SUBSTR may not be LE 0).
I recall having seen a SET parameter in the Summary of New Features, that disables this strict behaviour. But I don't remember its name nor the possible values and their meanings.

But maybe its better anyway to recheck all those calls in your code and to correct where necessary.

The SET command is SET USERFCHK = OFF (default is ON)
