I have a report that displays one of the columns with a visualized bar. Has anybody ever tried to only display the bars without displaying the data.

Frank,
I tried fiddling with this for a little bit with no success. The visiualize column seems to be locked to the actual data column. My only suggestion would be to look at Susannah's Tip and Tech article about visualizing the manual way.
This is what I used to do before we had GRAPHTYPE:
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
COMPUTE SALES_BAR/A200 = BAR(200, SALES/1000, 200, '|', 'A200');
BY COUNTRY
END
